IN PROGRESS

We're ready for an important step. Over the past two and a half years, Christian Radio Pipeline has moved from a dream into a process on the road to becoming a reality. The organization is in place; the goals are set.

We've been slowly raising funds and preparing for the countdown. Now, we're ready to roll. Our target is to submit our application to the FCC by August. We predict the engineering and legal costs of preparing the application to total about $2000. Currently, CRP is approximately one-third of the way toward achieving this financial goal.

Step two is the purchase and installation of equipment. The idea here is to leap into construction immediately. We already have competent volunteers available to begin installation as soon as we receive FCC permission. There will be no need to stand around wondering about who and how. We are ready.

CRP greatly appreciates its faithful supporters. We encourage both one-time and periodic contributions. Each contribution brings us closer to our goal of bringing K-LOVE's signal to the Bay Area.

Moving forward, CRP is seeking to expand its support base and its organizational base. We're looking for people enthusiastic about Christian Contemporary Music, volunteers willing to help in organization, fundraising, networking, and generally spreading the word that something exciting is in the air.

As of July 31, 1994, CRP was faced with a new challenge. KGEI, the local Far East Broadcasting Company station, signed off the air for good. A sad thing in general, this is pertinent to CRP in that KGEI had agreed to house CRP's translator free-of-charge. While this presents the new task of finding another licensable site as well as the added financial responsibility of paying rent, the timing was nevertheless a blessing. If we had already applied to the FCC to use the KGEI site, the station's closure would have caused CRP to incur additional licensing costs as well as the expenses and difficulties inherent in moving to a new location. Even through challenges and apparent setbacks, God's hand guides this project.
