Solar Power

Here is some information about my grid-tied solar power system. It was installed by Owens Electric & Solar and was switched-on in March of 2005.

This system uses 16 165-watt Shell PowerMax panels.

The DC from the panels feeds the Xantrex GT 3.0 inverter to provide 240VAC to the electrical panel.

The standard electro-mechanical meter was later replaced by a digital one. Note that the reading shows 99998 kWh which means that the meter had run backwards for 2 kWh because the solar panels produced that much more energy than the house used during that time.

Here is the latest snapshot of the power data from the inverter.
